We all want to do our best for the planet. But when we have received a gift of a personalised candle, what do we do with the jar once the candle has been used? If we even get one more use from something, thats one less item that goes pointlessly into landfill. By doing small things, we can all help the environment. You can remove the last of the wax by freezing the jar in the freezer overnight. The next day the wax will have peeled from the side of the jar making removal of the excess easy.
Here are some ideas for recycling and re-using glass candle jars.
Cosmetic Essentials Containers
Glass jars make a really great storage solution for small cosmetic items such as earbuds, cotton balls, perfume samples and many more small items. You can even store your toothbrush in these glass jars.
Tealight Holder

Place some stones at the base of the jar for decoration - this will also add height. Then add a tall tea light, taking care to have the candle close enough to be able to light but not too close that it would have the wick lighting above the top of the candle.
Plant Pot for Succulents

Those tiny cute succulents only need a small space to grow and thrive. You can place the small plastic plant pot into the jar. If you are using the jar directly, Jjust make sure to put some small stones at the base of the jar, so that the plant will not create a stagnant water pool when watering.
Loose Change Storage
We all have spare change floating around in our pockets. Make counting it up easy by designating a jar per coin amount such as 5 cents and 10 cents, or you can just fire the lot into the same jar! Why not use it as a way of saving small change to put towards a small treat for yourself. It all adds up. And if you wanted to save more, you could use the jar for bigger notes too.
Oil Reed Diffuser Holder
To save spills from oil diffusers, place the oil container into the candle jar to save from ruining cupboard tops and fireplaces. Oil can stain these surfaces, so by placing it into the recycled jar, it makes a safer place for the diffuser.
LED Light Jar

A simple set of led lights that are battery operated can be a fabulous addition to your bookcase or fireplace. Just pop a set into the jar, decorate with lace or rafia for an extra touch, and choose a timer set that will come on for 6 or 8 hours at a time so make a beautiful focal point in the dark evenings.
Paintbrush Holder
Use an empty candle jar for placing paintbrushes in-between paint jobs or maybe for creative purposes. Jars make great paintbrush holders, wet or dry. Organisation is key when projects are in hand, so store small tools in these jar for handiness.
Clutter Storage
Why not use the spent candle jars as storage for all the random things that you empty from your pockets! From safety pins to screws, paper clips and everything in-between. But make sure to sort through the pocket debris every once in awhile, so that you dont inadvertently gather more clutter with this recycling option!
